Watch out Mrs. Field!

Cookies, anyone?

Cookies, anyone?

Because here comes Molly and I think HER cookies are better than yours.

Molly wants to take skating lessons.  She’s been practicing roller skating and studying clips off the net on how to do jumps, etc.  And if we watch Ice Princess ONE more time….. ;)

The kids are clued into our budget and Molly knows ice skating lessons aren’t going to come from there.   There were a few days of “What can I do to earn some money” and me shrugging and replying “I’ve already given you a ton of ideas.”

Next thing I know, my quiet daughter is on the phone very confidently speaking with friends and former neighbors.

“Hi this is Molly and I’m raising money to take skating lessons.  I am selling cookies….would you like the variety plate or….”  I was impressed.

A new micro business is born: Molly’s Cookies.

And now she has sheet full of orders and this young lady is well on the path to begin lessons in March when a new session begins.  (“I want to start them before I turn 13 so I can say I started when I was 12,” she says.)

So Mrs. Field…just thought I’d put you on alert.  Her cookies and (oh be still my heart) espresso bars are AMAZING.   (Note to self: Find Weight Watcher’s meetings.)

And if YOU need any cookies…..just sayin’…….

  1. Mrs. Field’s was in bankruptcy last I heard so the field should be wide open for Molly. I’m impressed by her self-sufficiency and go-get’m attitude. I know she’ll love those skating lessons all the more for the effort.

  2. Wow! I didn’t know that. Sadly, so many businesses use debt to grow their business so I wonder if that’s what got Mrs. Field’s Cookies.
I’ll pass your words along to Molly—-that will encourage her. Thanks so much!
Hope all’s well in Star Wars land.

(Hey guys- if you haven’t seen Obi-Mom’s blog, check it out! If you love Star Wars, you’ll love how she’s built her blog in a very clever way.)
